Welcome to Shaftsbury Alpacas
At Shaftsbury Alpacas we are breeding for fineness of fiber, confirmation, temperament and color. We intend to achieve this with considerate planning of matching our girls with the perfect stud.
We are located at the border of VT and NY on Route 67, in the southwestern corner of VT.
Quite literally, as soon as you see the sign that welcomes you to Vermont, look to your left and you will see the sign that welcomes you to Shaftsbury Alpacas, also home of the Alpaca Shack.
We offer a free and relaxed tour of our farm and facilities in the serene hills of the Green Mountains. With magnificent views everywhere you look, it is easy to see why we fell in love with this land. We are minutes from The Bennington Battlefield and less than 15 minutes from downtown Bennington, Vermont.

- Just want a finished product? Check out The Alpaca Shack. We carry a wide variety of alpaca products like throws, socks, outerwear, a beautiful assortment of sweaters, teddy bears and of course rovings and skeins.
- Planning to one day be an alpaca farmer and making the rounds to farms to educate yourself (which is essential and one of the best ways to gaining knowledge). We are more than pleased to answer all your questions. We have learned much from other breeders as well as from our own experiences and look forward to sharing this knowledge with you.
